The solution supports a few different modes of operation - you can use an iPad as a secondary display, you can use another Mac (including older equipment) as a secondary display, or you can run the product in “headless mode.” In this configuration, you can use your Mac or PC as the primary display for your desktop Mac - such as a Mac Mini or a Mac Pro.Go beyond a graphics tablet with Astropad Studio. No doubt, its patient and loyal followers will be delighted that they can finally get their mitts on the product they’ve been waiting for. The company claims that its customers have been clamoring for Windows support, with a total of 8,000 preorders. Don’t expect to be doing heavy-duty design work or gaming on the display, in other words, but showing a Chrome tab or a Word document will work perfectly fine. Not as good as Apple’s claimed 9ms latency for its Sidecar product, but it’s quick enough for most use cases that don’t require real-time input. The company claims a latency of only 16ms. On paper, at least, the product looks promising the Luna dongle plugs in and communicates with Mac or Windows operating systems, unlocking iPad support for gestures, Apple Pencil and the use of external keyboards. It’s been a long time coming, but that Windows product is finally here, along with version 5.0 of Luna Display. Image Credits: AstropadĪs part of the Kickstarter project, Astropad originally promised a May 2021 launch, but as things go in the world of product development, the company and its 6,000 Kickstarter backers were treated to a number of delays along the way. Here, it’s wirelessly throwing to an iPad operating as a secondary display. The red dongle on the left of the computer is the Luna Display. Once Apple beat it at its own game, the founders kept the lights on and announced a year ago that it pivoted to working on a Windows product instead, fueling its product development with a $400,000 Kickstarter project. To its credit, the company and its founders have been good at staying transparent with its offering throughout. Its rapid rise to stardom was torpedoed when Apple launched Sidecar back in 2019, effectively making Luna’s product moot, and sending the company into crisis mode. The company originally launched its product about five years ago, then added a wireless module back in 2018 to get rid of the pesky wires. We’ve been following the company and its product for its long and arduous route. To say that the company has had a hard time with bringing its products to market would be the understatement of the century. Today, it’s available for Windows machines as well, completing Astropad’s pivot to a multiplatform product. It was originally launched for Mac only, but Apple launched a competing product, putting the company in jeopardy for a couple of years. The Luna Display from Astropad is a clever product enabling you to use your iPad as a second display.

The amount of adsorption for the dry grind is three times as great as that for the wet grind. This complete surface coverage is achieved because the dry dispersant molecules before neutralization do not have electrostatic repulsion among them. High jetness in the dry-grind process was found to result from complete surface coverage of the carbon black pigment with the acidic acrylic dispersant during the two-roll milling step. We also compared this dry-grind process with the conventional wet media grind process. We have investigated the deflocculation mechanism of waterborne jet black dispersions made in the dry-grind process based on the two-roll milling. 9/13/2023 0 Comments Go airport shuttle hawaiiAirport TransferĪn Airport Transfer is especially helpful when travelling with a group or family and have a large quantity of luggage in tow. Travelling from Honolulu Airport (Daniel K. 9/13/2023 0 Comments Allison raskin fianceAll our lives are messy and filled with things that are hard to define. The difference is the shrinking numbers of both. Do I still think some things are abhorrently bad and other things are universally good? Absolutely. Now, I not only live in the gray, I flourish in it. Any sort of moral ambiguity was intolerable for me. I used to not be able to tell my parents I loved them because I didn’t “know” what love was and I didn’t want to lie. It's hard to overstate how big a transition accepting gray is in my life. And I can more easily forgive people from my past and let them back into my present because actions I once saw as “undeniably bad” are now “undeniably nuanced” in my mind. I don’t need to have the same connection with someone in the same exact way for it to be valuable. I also feel more open to the idea of relationships evolving over time. I no longer feel that if I stop being friends with someone at some point in my life, I need to keep that door closed forever. Talk about living in the gray! Living through this experience-which would have blown my younger mind-has made me far more open to less clear-cut relationships in general. But here was Gaby, a best friend who became a less close friend who became an almost sworn enemy who became a colleague who became a friend again but in a different way than before. I was either friends with someone or not friends with them. I had never had a relationship go through that kind of transition before and survive. But we still played a role in each other’s lives, even if, for a while, there it was purely a business one. We no longer told stories about us hanging out together because we no longer hung out together. We might not have immediately and publicly acknowledged that our relationship had drastically changed, but we no longer acted as though we were best friends. We just reframed it into a comedy variety show instead of a show about friendship. After some tough discussions following our falling out in 2019, Gaby and I didn’t abandon our creative partnership. How could we keep the brand and the podcast going if it was all a lie? Wouldn’t that make me a fraud? Turns out, not really. But then the friendship started to fall apart, and I didn’t know what to do. And for the first few years, we were best friends. We built Just Between Us on the premise of friendship. And it’s a bit scary to think that my need to be “good” and for things to be “clear” almost prevented my healing and our shared future.Īnother huge area of my life that firmly, and quite comfortably, lives in the gray is my relationship with comedy partner Gaby. I honestly don’t know what my recovery would have looked like without him. Because what was my alternative? To end this new relationship before it even had a chance to take off out of some well-intended obligation to have my feelings tied in a bow before moving forward in my life? My relationship with John helped me move on from my ex, not just because I was forming a new connection with him but also because he was my good friend during a really tough time. I let myself live in a place that might not have been morally wrong but felt morally yucky.Īnd I’m so glad I did. But for whatever reason, I let myself continue. John would have deserved “better than me” even though I was open with him about all of it and he was a consenting adult. In the past, this kind of overlap would have been unconscionable. Yet I was actively falling in love with someone else. I still missed my ex and I still loved my ex. I started dating John while I was in the midst of processing an often overwhelming loss. I didn’t start dating John once I was fully over my ex-fiancé. One of the first times I noticed my newfound ability (and appreciation) for grayness was during the highly uncomfortable process of dating someone new after my broken engagement. Like the rest of us, I lie somewhere in the middle. This makes it a whole lot harder to demonize my sense of self. By accepting the world as murky, I don’t have to fit all of my own actions into clearly labeled categories. In fact, I find freedom and self-compassion in no longer having to clearly label everything. And what’s most surprising is that I’m perfectly okay with that. Now, at 32, my life is one big ball of gray. While I wasn’t color blind, I did have a hard time accepting or even recognizing shades of gray in my life. Growing up with OCD, I liked everything to be clear-cut. 9/13/2023 0 Comments Carotid doppler scan testDepending on your signs and symptoms, you may be asked to perform some mild exercises after the procedure. The test will be completed in about an hour. This condition may cause skin discoloration, pain when you walk or rest, and ulcers on the foot or ankle. When examining your leg arteries and veins, your doctor will look for narrowing of the blood vessels. You may hear a “whooshing” sound as blood flow is detected. The transducer will be moved to different areas for comparison. The computer will produce graphs or pictures that show the flow of the blood through the arteries and veins. The sound waves echo off your blood vessels and send the information to a computer to be processed and recorded. The transducer sends sound waves through your skin and other body tissues to the blood vessels. The cuffs will generally be applied to your thigh, calf, ankle, or different points along your arm. While there are some good jokes, others aren't so funny as it is the sort of humour that goes over the audience's heads, and the pace sags quite badly towards the end. Honestly most of my praise for Honeybee is that it did really well, as a non-genre film. He was voiced by John Goodman, who also played Marshall in The Hangover film franchise, Big Dan Teague in O Brother Where Art Thou, Chuck Long in Evan. He is an overweight lawyer who hates insects, namely bees, mostly a talking bee named Barry B. Bumblebee is a 2018 American science fiction film about the Transformers character of the same name. There was a lot of believable light hearted comedy throughout the film. Montgomery is the main antagonist of DreamWorks' 15th full-length animated feature film Bee Movie. Storywise, the last half hour feels like a different movie, first it is all warm, smart and infectious then it is close to serious and heavy-handed, and it also seemed as though the writers had run out of ideas. Not academy award winning acting by any means, but Garrett Richmond did great. Benson Renée Zellweger - Vanessa Bloome Matthew Broderick - Adam Flayman Patrick Warburton - Ken John Goodman - Layton T. However, the film's problems come in the second half, and the start of those problems are with the courtroom scene which came across as forced and only slightly funny. The script in general is sassy and smart with the odd amusing pun, the pace to start with is brisk and the voice acting is solid with Jerry Seinfeld energetic, Renee Zellwegger warm and endearing and an assortment of effective cameos especially Ray Liotta's. It was original and well-written up to a certain point. I also loved the concept, and in the first half the film did work really well with it. /rebates/2fthe-bee-movie-912572fcast-and-crew&. The music is a nice touch as well, the orchestral music is bright and breezy and the song in the end scene was lovely. The character designs are good enough, but the colours and backgrounds are the real revelations, as well as some of the visual gags. This is far from the worst movie ever(Disaster Movie) or the worst animated animated movie ever(Titanic:The Animated Movie), but despite its neat concept Bee Movie doesn't completely hold together consequently it is one of Dreamworks' weaker movies, Shark Tale being their worst. 9/13/2023 0 Comments Loverboy drink annual salesWe were able to sell to our fans directly because we'd built a strong relationship with our consumer base through 'Summer House.' My advice to other budding entrepreneursĬhase something you're passionate about. One of the major challenges of running an alcohol brand is that you're separated a few degrees from the consumer because of that three-tier system. We immediately sold out, and that's when we realized that we were onto something special. We launched this direct-to-consumer spritz in April of 2020, which ended up being the first month of lockdown. Shortly after soft launching in New York in the fall of 2019, we rolled out a wine-based spritz product with zero added sugar. When you're stripped of all the traditional moves in the playbook, it's a true test of a brand's loyalty and engagement. When the pandemic hit, you couldn't do any of the traditional brand-building act activities that big alcohol companies do: going into the bar, passing around samples, doing tastings at Whole Foods. Our direct-to-consumer relationship was key When my wife Amanda and friend Carl, both costars, joined the company, it helped amplify Loverboy's integration into the show even more. Yes, our audience sees us drinking it at a house party, but they can also watch our behind-the-scenes plans for the company's growth. I realized I didn't need a massive advertising and marketing budget if I already had consumer awareness.Īnd Summer House is pretty much the perfect show for alcohol product placement. When I agreed to do the show, I definitely saw an opportunity for brand exposure. What it really took to break out in the industry was a cheat code - and it ended up being 'Summer House.' Marketing can get incredibly expensive. (Loverboy hard teas technically fall into the beer category, even though they don't contain malt.) I had to figure out a 'cheat code' You can't circumvent those three tiers unless you sell a wine or wine-based product. Then, it becomes a patchwork of distributor negotiations - you have to sell to a wholesaler, who sells to a retailer, who sells to the consumer. You have to get your federal brewer's permit and a state brewer's permit and pay federal and state taxes. It took a year between 20 for me to figure out all the complexities and logistics of launching an alcohol brand. Kyle Cooke with his wife and Loverboy creative director Amanda Batula I figured, what if I create the first better-for-you hard tea? Tea adds flavor without adding calories, and less sugar equals less of a hangover. We'd generated incredible exposure for brands like Whispering Angel and Twisted Tea because we were drinking them every episode. I'd been trying to figure out a way to incorporate it into the show, but it was almost impossible to include it organically - plus, it didn't really go hand in hand with a show about partying in the Hamptons.īut I'd started to notice that Bravo's audience was paying attention to what the cast was drinking. When we filmed the first season of 'Summer House' in 2017, I was working on a nutrition coaching app. If I was going to be a solo founder, I needed to be able to get off the ground myself. I realized it's very difficult to raise venture capital if you don't have a technical co-founder. Trying to get those first few startups off the ground was a rude awakening. Now, we've generated about $38 million in total sales and work with over 150 distributors across 44 states - but I definitely faced my fair share of obstacles along the way. An alcohol brand would have the winning factors my past startups were missing: Namely, it was a product I was passionate and knowledgeable about, and it was easy to integrate into our reality show. It wasn't until 2017, after my first season on 'Summer House,' that I got the idea for Loverboy. The problem was that I was stuck thinking I had to be in tech, constantly chasing projects that I thought were trendy - like a beauty app or a restaurant reservation app - instead of what got me excited. Even if I wasn't passionate about the product itself, I could sell it.Īfter I went to business school, I tried to get several startups off the ground, and none of them worked. I always had the entrepreneurial itch, whether it was putting on magic shows and lemonade stands to earn some money as a kid or selling Cutco cutlery when I was 18. This as-told-to essay is based on a conversation with Kyle Cooke, 39-year-old Loverboy founder and star of Bravo's 'Summer House.' It has been edited for length and clarity.
